Patch Network: Officials are encouraging residents to use the GovPilot Report-a-Concern app to improve services between the township and residents.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — Cinnaminson officials are working with a company ranked among the 100 companies in its field to help improve communication between the township and its residents. Officials are encouraging residents to use the township's GovPilot online platform.

"One of the goals of the current Cinnaminson Township Committee is to keep residents informed of and engaged in ongoing Township initiatives and activities," Township Manager Eric Schubiger said. "Over the past year, the Township has initiated the GovPilot report a concern platform, upgraded our Nixle notification system and began publishing an online monthly newsletter. In addition, within the past month, the Township redesigned the Township and Police Department websites and launched the Tip411 app which enables residents to submit anonymous tips to the Police Department."

"The Township Committee is committed to connecting residents to our local government services in a variety of ways," Mayor Ryan Horner said. "We have launched and updated several platforms which have enhanced our ability to communicate directly with residents, and we look forward to continuing to utilize new technologies in an effort to promote open government."

Residents can use links at the bottom of the township's website to download the app using Android and Apple devices. They can then use the app to report their concerns directly to the appropriate township official.

"The program is pre-loaded with various options and enables users to provide an additional description of their concern," officials said in the announcement. "The new applications also enable residents to request public documents and apply for use of municipal facilities and parks."

For three straight years, the Hoboken-based GovPilot has been named among the Top 100 Gov Tech Companies by Government Technology Magazine. The company was founded in 2014 and employs less than 50 people.

The company's website emphasizes a streamlined process in which multiple departments can be streamlined into one platform. Locally, it is used by Camden County, which says use of the platform has allowed them to work faster and more efficiently.

Cinnaminson recently upgraded its website, and the police department has its own website for the first time in more than 15 years, and it launched its own app last week. Read more here: Cinnaminson Police Now Have An App; New Website Launches Thursday.

"The GovPilot application will assist the township with continuing to provide outstanding local municipal services to Cinnaminson Township residents," officials said in the release.
