There's No Place Like Green Brook, New Jersey

By Alannah Dragonetti

The Emerald City is shining a little brighter — thanks to a wealth of tools that enable Green Brook officials to better engage with and convenience  residents.

Green Brook has unveiled GB Connect — a mobile app that empowers residents to voice concerns to Green Brook’s government in the time it takes to send a text message. The township encourages residents to visit  the Google Play or App Store and download the free GovAlert mobile app to begin generating concern reports. They click “Submit” and their concern is routed to the appropriate Green Brook official—office hours or not. Newly automated internal processes ensure that issues are resolved swiftly and effectively.

The next tool will revolutionize landlord life. Green Brook’s smoke and carbon monoxide detector compliance process has gone digital. Online application forms can be completed and submitted on the Green Brook website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, via desktop, smartphone or tablet.

Last, but not least, is Green Brook’s new geographic information system (GIS) map. Residents can consult the map for accurate information about bus routes, zoning regulations and all other aspects of civic life.

Forms and apps and maps, oh my! GovPilot looks forward to seeing how Green Brook officials and residents benefit from this trifecta of automated convenience.
